Chris Fisher: Painting and Illustration




				I was born in Germany to a US Army family. My family moved many times and then settled in the Hudson River Valley around West Point. After high school I attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan where I earned a BFA in Illustration. My studies were not confined to a single minded approach to painting, but was a well rounded education in classical and modern styles under many well known illustrators. My personal interests are reflected in the work that I produce. The two realms that I most like to explore are classical illustration of a story or historical event and landscape. In illustration, I enjoy capturing the drama of a moment with the use of lighting and pose. I also enjoy the process of gathering detailed reference in order to make a piece as accurate as possible. In landscape painting, I present what I have experienced in my many years of exploring and hiking along the Hudson River. I make great efforts to choose uncommon views and unique natural moments. I am always eager to work with a client in order to create a work of art that is both personal and of professional quality.
